The active part of the plant is its fruit.

It prevents bacteria (that of the  E. coli included) from adhering to the walls of the bladder and urinary pathways.
It is an excellent food for the prevention of the inflammation and the infections of the bladder and kidneys.

It does not cause any side or adverse effects. However, we should take into consideration the fact that there are several cases in which the urinary tract infections often require antibiotics for a specialised treatment.
